"But in a decade or so, if not sooner, lots of details will come out. It's quite an epic adventure."

Will these stories come out?

We've seen the animus of most Democratic Party leaders, their lickspittle allies in the MSM, and of most of Hollywood, towards facts and truth. So much has happened since 9/11/01 that could be the subject of great books; compelling article, series of articles in MSM newspapers and magazines; terrific movies and miniseries.  These events would readily lend themselves to such treatment, and, if done well, make huge profits for their creators.

But that hasn't happened. Why?

There's so much antipathy from The Usual Suspects towards our Military in general, contempt for our fighting men and women, hatred for George Bush...leftist animosity and contempt for Pres. Bush and, at it's ugly core, traditional America in general.  I don't expect the Democratic Party leaders to have a "Liar, Liar"-type conversion to truth and facts, nor do I expect the MSM or Hollywood grandees to suddenly turn honest and patriotic. I really hope I'm wrong but I expect only more of the same old, same old lies and propaganda from the above mentioned professional liars and leftist Blame-America-First propagandists.

You are wrong, simply because TV needs ratings and people love a tale. There was a day many would
have found it suprising that the hero of every cop show was a Vietnam Veteran.

Good Lord!!! Take your medication!  It's not the Vast left Wing/Liberal Media conspiracy at work. The war is still in progress. "Telling the story" about how we developed informant networks in Iraq is a really, really stupid thing to do at this time. Unless you thinks it's a good idea to advetize to the bad guys what we're doing.

Some times telling the bad guys what your doing is a good way to help them give up and go home.  Didn't the PsyOps broadcaset the sites of the next days B-52 strikes to the enemy in the first gulf war.  Clearly "sources and methods" should remain seceret.  There are many ways to change the names to protect the helpful and Holywood couldn't explain the methods corectly to save their lives.

The trick is to predict the enemys reaction to the information.  If we tell the diehards that we have an informer network in Iraq what will they do differently?

One good side effect of telling the story could be to get other nations to set up like minded informer networks of their own.   Why not have an IDF intel franchise in every arab state?

Also telling parts of the story gives you the chance to move a little disinformation as well.

Man, this is the final season of The Shield and I was wondering what could replace it. Something fictional losely based on this would be the perfect follow up. Someone forward this article to Shawn Ryan.
