If you don't want to go to sea, why join the Navy?

A friend of mine who served on a tin can about 20 years ago said it was "like being in jail, with a chance of drowning".

Given that Barrack Lyndon Baines Johnson Obama is totally clueless and hates America and it's Military, it's totally understandable that moral would be lower than a sub at crush depth.

There is plenty of substance to discuss here, such as America's role in a world that is increasingly prone to sectarian strife.

EXAMPLE:  Scotland just had a relatively close referendum on independence.  Peacefully, blessedly, but just one more example of political unions under pressure.  There are dozens of other less peaceful examples of groups/tribes/ethnicities wanting more self-determination.  How does America determine it's role?  When should be have a carrier group deployed to help maintain stability?  At what cost to dollars and back to the point of the article morale?

I guess all this is lost in the echo chambers of Rupert Murdoch's world, where he is more interested in exciting folks into lending him their eyeballs and critical thinking skills.

Somehow cut off the first part of my comment where I said that pathetically and indefensible partisan attacks (BHO hates America) are never seen in conjunction with cogent, on-point arguments about real issues.

That's what happens when your military becomes comprised of social workers who march with shovels and pick up a gun every now and then vs. warriors who march with guns and pick up a shovel every now and then.  It's what Democrats want and what they're getting.

Really, our military is comprised of "social workers" with shovels? When did this happen? I must have missed something. Our military has defeated every other it met. Even in Vietnam, we "lost" because the American people, for good or bad, tired of the war and wanted us to get out. Our military did not lose on the battlefield. Ask the Iraqi Republican Guard how they did when they fought the U.S. military, evidently armed with something more than shovels. Ask the Taliban how well they did when they tried to stand up and fight our soldiers and marines. Ask Bin Laden how well the Navy SEALS did. I consider myself a Democrat, and have for more years than I wish to count, and one of the things I do not want is a weak military. Reluctance to fight is not the same as inability to fight. I believe our armed forces are still the best in the world, and will remain so.
