The fighter aircraft in the world is of no use without fuel.  And as things stand, even China's most advanced fighters are limited to operating areas that they can reach from the Chinese mainland.  Until China builds at least two large functioning aircraft carriers, their fighters will not be a global threat.  

My best guess is that China will build one aircraft carrier to operate off its own coast, two or three to operate in the Pacific, and at least one to operate in the Indian Ocean.
