The Legion routinely beats everybody in join excercises , including the Marines . You say you 're Jungle Warfare Specialists but you never liked French Guyana , do you ;)

This why these post are so much a waste of time.

I know SCCOMarine was there, I know this from discriptions he has given n different threads, How many of you out there with criticism for the Corps have been?

From 90% of the knock the Corps post that I have read, I have yet to hear anything from anyone who has implicit knowledge of what the Corps is and does to state anything of fact.

While I think at times SCCOMArine let's his emotion get the best of him, he has been right on as far as his facts about Corps Mission and Deployments.

To give it more perspective.

I've worked with the RMC personally if I were to say were equally as good most of you would cry foul. They may edge us out a bit in Physical Fitness but I think we have an edge tactically. But here's why I say it.

We work hand and hand with the RMC, train hand and hand.

We do personnel exchanges directly with the RMC. Like I wrote in a post from B4 in Small Craft we had an RMC Color Sgt in our company. We had a Marine from my unit in the Commachio or some crazy name. It was some kind of Security Unit. When I was in 2^nd Marines there were a few RMC Offs at the Reg. and BN level and vice versa.

Our units are interchangeable. During the Invasion phase of OIF the 15^th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) Marines were assigned to and a part of 3 Commando Brigade, to provide specialized small unit raid capability.

The list goes on. PPl like to make this comparison based off of Boot Camp. Yeah they have a more challenging Boot Camp physically, but its not as mentally stressful. Their Boot Camp is more like our SOI, School of Infantry phase, as far as the way they treat the Recruits. But their Boot Camp can be more physically selective b/c its smaller.

Unit to Unit they’re more physically fit on avg, but we’re more tactically proficient b/c of the complex tactics we run, our versatility of missions, and the fact that we force tactics on Jr Marines the second the enter their first unit, the RMC allows Jr Marines time to adjust. It's hard to explain in a paragraph.

The Marine Corps has never stated to specialize in any particular field. The Corps is a Jack of all Trades type force. But I'm glad you brought up the Legion.

The Legion are some Hard M'Fkrs. Hard as Nails. But Tactically Dumb, Dumb as Sh*t. Don't confuse the two. Everyone who knows anything about Elite Units know this. All Bravado, No Brains.

You could fill a book on tactical errors that the FFL has made that has gotten whole units wiped out. Wipe Out! Everyone! Off of a tactical error that a Boot *ss Lt in the Corps could figure out!

And if your talking about the Jungle Crs in FG, the Marine unit took a long time getting thru the crs. It was a Marine reserve unit doing there ANNUAL 2wks a year training. They get off their couches 2wks a yr to get together and train like that.

So no its not a shock, they weren't in shape, and its a crs FFL units do 2 or 3 times a yr. I'm glad they had the balls to try it. Alot of other units would have P*ssied out all together.
