 Label me sardonic/weird but I find the idea of having the components for the bulletproof vests/electronics used by your own troops being manufactured by a potential enemy absolutely hilarious.
What could possibly go wrong?

Kevlar and Spectra are used as liners for coaxial and fiberoptic cables. Those are also made overseas. Some of the bigger mfrs of spectra/dyeenma/kevlar are in Japan. As for boron carbide: http://www.chinaboroncarbide.com/index.html" target="_blank">link
