Kind of throws a big dent into the women in combat controversy........at least at the infantry level. Maybe the Army/Marines can start recruiting a whole new class of bull dikes. There's plenty of them at any LPGA event.

It's worth recalling that Marshall, in "The Soldier's Load", assembled substantial evidence that no army ever successfully conditioned soldiers to carry more than about 40 pounds without loss of efficiency.  That included clothing and footgear.

As almost no infantry from Marius' Mules to MACV-SOG have carried much less than 70-80 pounds of gear, I'd say the statement refutes itself.

I'm having trouble posting. My comment was this; Why ignore the sacrifice of our brothers from the Korean War? No mention of them, yet Vietnam and WWII come up twice. Pointman RVN '69-'70
