An LC-130 Hercules assigned to the New York Air National Guard’s 109th Airlift Wing takes off in Antarctica in support of Operation Deep Freeze, Dec. 12, 2025. The 109th AW operates the ski-equipped LC-130 to provide heavy airlift capability supporting the National Science Foundation’s U.S. Antarctic Program.
