McCain will be elected president of the United States
McCain is the only one who can beat Hillary head to head.

Sen. McCain said, "I hated Bush before hatting Bush was cool."

Not really, this is just a joke.  I have now proof.

While I support McCain, he is still a long long way from wrapping up the GOP nomination. he is trailing in SC & FL, and he is short on cash. Hopefully last night can remedy all of that. And of course... Hillary is no lock on the other side.

They all better be glad Ronald Reagan is dead and Bill Clinton can't run again.

Apparently McCain is gaining support in SC.  According to the Rasmussen report he holds a 3% lead as of today.

1.  Who wins which state is way over rated.  With proportional representation and more than two candidates, it is perfectly possible to 'win' in no states and still go into the convention with the plurality of delegates.

2.  The republicans pray nightly that Hillary wins the nomination.  Her negatives ensure that almost half the country would vote for a dead man before voting for her.  She has a cemetary full of skeletons going back to her college days.  She is distinctly unlikeable and under the pressure of the presidential campaign, her head would surely split in two right in front of the cameras and the screaming harpy that dwells within would leap forth for the world to see.  It would take days for the main stream media to cover it up and by then the damage would be done.

3.  Obama is a harder case because he is pretty, distinctly likeable and has no record worth mentioning.  It's hard to run against smooth talk and empty platitudes all packaged in a well fitting empty suit.

4.  McCain has a loose cannon in republican eyes.  His sense of honor and integrity is unrivaled, but his judgement can seriously be called into quesiton.

5.  Anybody but Ron Paul (who hopefully we will soon be seeing none of) and Hucksterby can beat Hillary.

Given the high probability (approaching certainty) that a "corrective" recession is due in the next several years, does any adherent to the Republican Party really wish it to come down on a John McCain administration?

Consider McCain's past lack of understanding (and utter disinterest) in the field of economics, he's likely to make the sorts of fumblenuts interventions that we're presently seeing ("stimulus package" my round and hairy prat!), all of which will prove ineffective at best and - more likely - disastrously exacerbatory.

This is one cartoon anvil I wish to see falling squarely on the head of the proverbial Donkey, whether it's Obama or Hillary.

This would relieve the GOP of association in the public's eyes with this economic disaster (even though we know it's really in great part the Republicans' responsibility) and at the same time free up the Republican minority in Congress to resist Democrat idiocies from the White House and across the aisle.

And what need has anyone posting on this forum to dislike Congressman Ron Paul?

Of all the candidates running in this prolonged race, Ron Paul has received more contributions from serving soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines than all the porkslurping "standardbearers" - Republican and Democrat - *COMBINED*.

The troops favor him not just with their votes but with their hard-earned dollars.

What does that tell you about the man?

The problem is not Pres. McCain and/or the Republicans getting held responsible for a major recession, it's all the other decisions that a sleazy, corrupt glib hard-leftist Pres. Hussein Obama would make or a sleazy, corrupt, glib, corrupt not quite so hard a leftist Pres. Rodham Clinton would make.

You think Jimmy Carter fubar'ed things up and that we're still picking up the pieces from his failed Admin?  That'd be nothing to what a Pres. Hussein Obama or Pres. Rodham Clinton would do.  If you want to accurately imagine their future conduct and actions, then really dig into their pasts.  Much information is out their to do that. IMO It brings a rational, dispassionate person to the conclusion that they're both corrupt, feckless, power-hungry demagogues. They're both empty suits...or in Hillary's case, an empty dress.

McCain is hardly perfect but he is a competent, smart experienced leader who can fairly be called a statesman. Additionally, he's a real war hero and a man of integrity who can speak and make decisions on national security and foreign affairs with real authority.  That 3 AM phone call posited in the Hillary TV ad?  I'd infinitely prefer President McCain to take that call, rather than either a President Hussein Obama or a President Rodham Clinton. And I suspect that a majority of the American people will arrive at that same decision in November.

How can anyone in their right mind even compare Bama or Clinton to McCain?  McCain will keep our country values that were established by our forefathers.   I am sure they would rise right out of the grave if they had any idea we have thumbed our noses to American values.  Take prayer, bible and the ten commandments out our of our schools and they are a battle ground in our own Nation.  Forget the bible and prayer what is wrong with the Ten Commandments, it only tells us not to kill, steal, tell lies etc.  Their has to be rules or their is utter caous.  I remember when I went to school I walked 1 mile and didn't have to fear for anything but maybe being teased to death.  We had no drugs, alcohol abuse and the worst thing a teen did sneak and smoke.   Remember those days.  We need to bring America back and get rid of the National breakup by the AACP.  Vote McCain
