Ireland has received nearly half of the 640 M203A1 40mm under-barrel grenade launchers ordered from Diemaco of Canada. These will be mounted under the Irish Army's Steyr AUG 5.56mm assault rifles. This is the same grenade launcher used by the US Army. It has an effective range of 150 meters against point targets and 350 meters against area targets.Stephen V Cole
