India is due to receive kits to build 80 T-90S tanks this month; assembly will begin early next year. Licensed production of T-90s is due in 2006. The local Arjun tank program has been all but officially abandoned; the chassis (124 were ordered but it is unclear how many have actually been completed) will probably be used for self-propelled artillery pieces.--Stephen V Cole
