A short update as a result of information provided to me by readers and recent developments. The Army has decided to leave its deployments at a year, as this proves more effective in the long run.
The Stryker Brigades have completed their relief in place.
The Divisional Aviation Brigade is sometimes numbered the 4th Brigade, 1st Infantry Division or sometimes with the division’s designation, such as the 10th Aviation Brigade. National Guard Brigade’s are sometimes numbered 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, while others are referred to by their old divisional designations, such as the 31st Separate Armored Brigade. This convention preserves the lineage and honors of inactivated divisions.
Key to color-coding: green shows alerted units, blue is National Guard/Army Reserve, gold indicates units deployed away from their home station, red shows units normally not deployable, and asterisks next to a unit name indicate a National Guard Enhanced Brigade.
