Over the weekend, clan militias fought near the Ethiopian border, in northeast Somalia, leaving at least 17 dead and several dozen wounded. While modern weapons are available in Somalia, modern medicine is not. Far more of those wounded in these shoot-outs die from infections, than would be the case is there were any kind of modern medical care available.
