A group of 20 armed Somalis crossed the Kenyan border to rob local civilians. This has been going on more frequently over the last few years because there is less to steal in Somalia. This time, a Kenyan border patrol came along and a gun battle broke out. At least two Somalis were killed and several wounded as the bandits retreated into Somalia. There were no Kenyan casualties. Most Somali raids are not even reported to the international media, but it does make the local news and generates the public pressure on the government to do something about the problem. But there's not much the government can do short of invading Somalia. And few Kenyans have the stomach for that.
