The Los Angeles-class attack submarine USS Philadelphia (SSN 690) makes her way down the Thames River and into Long Island Sound for the final time as she heads to Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Va. for dismantling. Philadelphia was decommissioned June 25 in a ceremony at Naval Submarine Base New London, the 33rd anniversary of her commissioning. Photo by Seaman John Narewski
