Oman has received an unknown number of Type-90 Chinese-built 122mm multiple rocket launchers (MLRS). Each has a 40-tube rocket battery mounted on the back of a truck. Normally, the Type-90 is mounted on a Chinese truck chassis but these are mounted on Mercedes-Benz 6x6 chassis at the request of Oman, which uses similar trucks in several roles. The Type-90 uses on-board GPS to determine the location of the truck and aim the launcher.--Stephen V Cole
