The Finnish Army has received the first 120mm AMOS twin-barrel automatic mortar system. The mortar itself was developed by Patria of Finland; it is mounted in a turret developed by Hagglunds of Sweden. The Finnish Army mounted its system in a Patria XA203 six-wheeled armored carrier. The Swedes will mount the mortar turret in one of their own armored vehicles next year. Extensive tests with the system will be conducted. The Finns expect to have AMOS in service with their rapid reaction brigades by 2005.--Stephen V Cole
