by Bruce Allen Watson

Westport, Ct.: Praeger, 1999. xv, 217 pp. Illus, maps, notes, biblio., index. $39.95. ISBN:0-275-95923-6

A very German-oriented treatment of operations in North Africa from Alamein to the surrender of Axis forces in May of 1943. Unlike Alan J. Levine the author needs to find scapegoats, and constantly blames the Italians or Hitler or anyone else. There is some useful material, but the book could safely be overlooked by any but the most ardent student of the North Africa Campaign
