To no one's surprise, it has been revealed the U.S. and Taiwanese military planners have been meeting secretly over the past few years to work out details of how American and Taiwanese forces would cooperate in wartime. One reason these meetings have become public is Taiwan's interest in working with the United States in developing ballistic missile defenses. Taiwan has the money, industrial resources and need for such technology. American is eager to find partners to develop such systems. This new area of cooperation with bother the Chinese a great deal, which is seen as another plus in America and Taiwan.
