: President Bush has ordered CIA Director George Tenet to conduct a comprehensive review of US intelligence, with two questions in mind:

1. Should the US spend more money to develop new ways to gather information?

2. Can US intelligence agencies effectively protect their own secrets?

Two panels will review the questions, one named by Tenet and the other by National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice. The reports are due this summer.--Stephen V Cole
