North Korea cut off the regular meetings of North Korean and American military officials which has, since the end of the Korean War in 1953, monitored the armistice that ended the fighting. This was the only regular meeting of North Korean and American officials for all that time. This is another move by North Korea to try and force the US to agree to a non-aggression treaty and increased economic aid for North Korea.
